Linda Avery

Director
High School Math, Physics, and Computer Applications
Linda is a homeschool veteran of nearly 30 years. With a degree in Engineering, she has a passion for teaching math and physics. Linda has homeschooled all 10 of her children from preK through 12th grades. She enjoys traveling, spending time with grandbabies, and hosting (large) family gatherings.

Rhonda Arthur

Admin Team
High School Math, Science, Health, Medical Terminology
Rhonda and her husband, Scott, have 6 children and 3 sweet dogs. Having homeschooled for almost 16 years, Rhonda has “fallen in love with teaching kids and encouraging them along the way.” Rhonda worked as a nurse in the ICU/ER for over 20 years and is eager to share the excitement of science and math with students and how it is used everyday in so many professions. 

Valerie Adams

Co-Founder
English Essentials
Valerie co-founded The Bridge Tutorial in 2003 with a group of like-minded parents who desired a more Biblically-based education for their own children. Over the years Valerie has served as a high school counselor, an advisor to parents of students with disabilities, a curriculum advisor, and a has homeschooled her six children. Her goal is to come along side parents and help them with the role of educating their children in a way that honors God. When she is not creating lesson plans or teaching, Valerie enjoys spending time with her husband and grandbabies. 

Amanda Thompson

Geometry
Amanda has taught in private schools for 7 years, teaching math classes that range from Algebra 1 to AP Calculus.

She was the math department head for 3 years before taking a leave to stay home with her 2 young children. She has a Bachelor’s degree in secondary education, focused in mathematics.

Kayleigh Avery

Middle and High School Math and Science
Kayleigh received her Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from Union University with minors in math and Chemistry. She loves the sciences and says that there is nothing more amazing than learning the way the world works. She enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Olivia Avery

Art
Olivia is a gifted artist and a popular local artesan which makes her being here at The Bridge very unique. She helps students explore art in its various forms and history allowing them to explore and create original works. Her artwork is in demand across the country and is featured on many websites and blogs. Olivia was homeschooled from K through 12 and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Union University.

Pam Brant

Spanish I, World Cultures III
A native Memphian, Pam graduated from Christian Brothers University, Magna Cum Laude, with a BS in accounting; and subsequently, obtained professional certifications in fraud, internal auditing, and business management (CFE, CIA, CBM).  Additionally, she pursued an education in the Spanish language where she developed a heart for missions to the local and international Spanish community. She has a God-given passion for teaching, with a focus on building educational foundations that encourage the fulfillment of God’s good purpose in the lives of students. Pam has served in educational partnership with parent-teachers through The Bridge Tutorial since 2010.

Peggy Fillinger

Economics, Personal Finance
A homeschooling mom of four (all four have already graduated), Peggy holds a degree in accounting from Aurora University in Aurora, IL. She has taught Personal Finance and Economics classes for more than a dozen years and desires to see young people well-informed and understanding the economic principles that guide our lives and government.   

Jill Hollingsworth

American Literature,  World Cultures IV
A homeschooling mom of three, Jill holds an undergraduate degree
in Educational Psychology from Mississippi State University and a Master’s
degree in Education from Union University. She has thirteen years teaching experience including the public school classroom, tutoring in a local private school, women’s ministry, and homeschooling her own children. Passionate about creating environments where students can truly
love and engage in learning, Jill hopes that the life lessons gleaned from her literature and history classes will make an eternal impact on each student. Jill has been married to her husband for 15 years and has three sons.

Kristen Lyons

Spanish II
Kristen has a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Secondary Education from Asbury University. She has more than 12 years of teaching experience in both the public and private school sectors and is excited to continue working with students at The Bridge. Kristen is married to Mike and has 4 children. 

Samantha Morgan

Admin Team
American Government, American History, English Foundations I & II
Samantha Morgan, a homeschool alumna, graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelors of Education. In 2017, after teaching several years for Shelby County Schools, Samantha started working from home and joined The Bridge family. Samantha’s classes at The Bridge allow her to combine a love of teaching and writing! When she is not tutoring, Samantha spends her time enjoying the company of her two young girls, Marley and Emerson.

Ann Norwood

English Mastery, English Literary Analysis
Ann has worked with the homeschool community in various roles for over ten years. She has taught at two different homeschooling co-ops, and her children started their homeschool journey three years ago. Ann also tutored high school and college essay writing and literature online for Tutor.com, a company of Princeton Review, for eight years. She loves to teach writing, to read, and to learn new languages. She graduated from Middle TN State University with teaching certifications in English and Spanish, and is a Registered IEW Instructor. She has taught in various settings (public, private, co-op, online tutoring), but she considers her greatest achievement to be educating her own children. 

Jessica Bailey

Intro to Writing, World Cultures II
Jessica brings years of elementary education and teaching experience to The Bridge. With a Bachelor in Teaching K-6 General Education and K-12 SPED Mild to Moderate, Jessica believes literacy is a gift from God intended as a means to have a relationship with God. She loves teaching reading, writing, phonnics, Bible, and history and is active in her youth ministry at church.

Jennifer Eggers

British Literature, Life Science
Jennifer has a Bachelor degree in Education and has taugh multiple grade levels in English, Science, and History and is currently a homeschooling mom as well. She believes that God's Word is an essential part of a child's education recognizing that every child is different. Each student should be given the opportunity of reaching their full potential in Christ through education.

Angela Seymour

FUNdamentals of Learning, English Basics, Etymology, and Bible
Angela believes that children deserve a Christ-centered education based on God's Word. She homeschooled her children and has taught in private Christian K-4 and K-5 settings. Angela believe learning God's Word is a lifelong pursuit and wants to instill these qualities in her students. She enjoys teaching English, etymology, and Biblical worldview classes.

Brandy Oliver

Pre-Algebra, Elementary Science
Brandy's main goal in teaching is help students know they were created by God and for Him through the lense of a Christian worldview. Math and science declare His glory! She has a Bachelor of Science in Education with several years of teaching in private, public, and yes homeschool settings. Brandy is experienced teaching history, STEM classes, math, and science.

Delynn Johnson

Psychology, Biblical Worldview
Delynn has been homeschooling for 19 years. She has 11 children (two who have graduated) and has homeschooled all of them at various times. Delynn's desire is to help each student succeed by discovering their individual learning styles and God-given abilities and giftings. Delynn and her husband are actively involved in the foster and adoption community. This led her to pursue her Master’s in Christian Counseling which she will complete in 2024. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in History.

Kate Schneidau

Spotlight! 6th Grade
Kate graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education from Oral Roberts University. She has a passion for teaching and has homeschooled her 4 children for the last 23 years. Prior to that, Kate taught 5th grade in the Shelby County Public Schools and the Owasso Public Schools. She enjoys making learning fun by simplifying complex concepts using a multisensory approach within her classroom and curriculum. With Kate, students will enjoy
hands-on activities and experiments as well as  collaborative learning experiences. Kate loves connecting with students
as a coach and helping them to reach their full potential.

Kim Bryant

Spotlight! K-1
Kim loves working with kids of all ages and desires for each child to know how much God loves them and that He desires a relationship with them. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene and a Master of Arts in Christian Education. Kim currently teaches kindergarten at a cottage school and first grade Sunday school at her church.

For the past ten years, she and her husband have enjoyed coaching children's sports together. They have two boys (10 and 7) who keep them active and on their toes.

Ashley Roebuck

American Literature, American History, American Government, and Health
Ashley is a veteran teacher with over 20 years of experience. She graduated from Liberty University with a BS in Education and minored in Psychology and Christian Counseling. 

As a homeschooling mom of two, she is passionate about education and strives to come along side parents to help students succeed and develop a love of learning. Ashley has been married to her husband, Randy, for 18 years and enjoys traveling, working on her farm, and serving in her church.
